You decided on a Wix website because you want to do one simple thing: Sell your services online.
Then you discover: Wix Services • Wix Bookings • Wix Proposals • Wix Pricing Plans • Wix Members Area • Wix Stores... and more
Suddenly you're wondering whether you need all of them, just 3 of them, or you give up and wait to decide another day to keep your head from spinning.
Welcome to Wix App Soup
The good news is that many apps are included in your subscription, and can work together to help ease your business operations.
Think of each app as a team member managing different parts of your customer's journey.
The easiest way to decide which one you need is to stop asking, “Which Wix app should I install?” and start asking: “What do I want my customer to do next?”
Read on for the breakdown...

Wix Services — “Tell Me What You Need”
Use Wix Services when you offer something customized and need to understand the project before giving someone a price or booking the work.
For example, The Wix Doctor offers the following services, but the cost may depend on a variety of factors:
Website Design
Marketing Strategy
Brand Development
Consulting
Email Marketing
Social Media Marketing
Wix Services is a tool to use when the answer to “How much does this cost?” usually begins with “Well...it depends.”
This tool allows your website visitors to learn about the service, and then decide to submit an inquiry. This is particularly useful when your services don't result in a quick sale, but require client nurturing.
For many contractors, service providers, consultants, designers and agencies, this is a natural first step in the new client journey.

Wix Bookings: “Pick a Time”
Wix Bookings is going to help you and your clients with Scheduling. Pretty straightforward, right?
Some people will say, “I don’t need online booking. My paper calendar works just fine.”
And maybe it does—until you remember the last time you tried to coordinate dinner with a group of friends.
You know the drill: a string of texts, a few emails, three possible dates, someone who can’t do Thursday, someone else who suddenly has a conflict on Friday, and the one time you thought everyone agreed on is now off the table.
Now apply that same scenario to your business.
Whether you’re scheduling time with one client or an entire client team, every call, text and email spent going back and forth is time you’re not spending on actual work. A booking system doesn’t just make scheduling more convenient—it eliminates the friction of finding a time that works for everyone.
Wix Bookings can handle more than in-person appointments and phone calls. Connect it with Zoom or Google Meet to automatically generate and send virtual meeting links as part of the booking process. You can even connect it with your personal calendar to block out dates and times when you have other meeting or personal appointments.
Meeting types that work especially well with Wix Bookings include: Coaching sessions • Consultations • Discovery calls • Massage appointments • Private lessons • Service calls
If the following text message thread looks familiar:
“How about Tuesday?”
“No, Wednesday?”
“What about 11?”
“I can do 11:30.”
...Wix Bookings can save everyone involved.

Wix Proposals: “Here’s the Scope. Here’s the Price. Sign Here.”
You had the conversation. You know what the client needs. Now you need to turn that conversation into an actual business agreement.
Enter Wix Proposals.
This is useful for custom projects where you need to present:
• Scope • Deliverables • Pricing • Payment terms • Timelines • Agreements • Signatures
For project-based service businesses, a very natural Wix App workflow might be:
Wix Services → Discovery Call via Wix Bookings → Wix Proposal → Wix Invoices
This flow is much more effective than trying to urge a new client to accept a $7,500 custom project via an “Add to Cart” button.

Wix Members Area: “Welcome Back”
This one causes a lot of confusion for my clients, so let me break it down...
Generally, when business owners use a members app, they assume this means they are selling paid memberships for locked or hidden content on their website. While the Wix Members app does include this option, using this app is really about giving customers a place to track their transaction history with you and easily interact with your business.
Depending on how you configure the Members Area, clients can have a convenient, password-protected web page for managing their relationship with your business. This is where they might book or review appointments, check purchases and package balances, and access important agreements, documents, and other account information.
Think of it as the customer's home base.
This becomes especially useful when people work with you repeatedly.

Wix Pricing Plans: “Buy the Package”
Pricing Plans is where Wix starts getting especially interesting for service businesses — especially if you sell packages of time or services.
Instead of selling one appointment at a time, you can sell packages, memberships and subscriptions.
Examples of service packages you can set up with Wix Pricing Plans:
3 Coaching Sessions — $299
Monthly Consulting Membership — $199/month
10-Class Package — $250
VIP Membership with Monthly Calls + Resources — one low subscription price!
So let's go back to how this works with the apps I've mentioned so far...
Bookings manages: WHEN the customer meets with you.
Pricing Plans manages: WHAT they purchased.
Members Area gives them: A PLACE to keep track of it.
This combination is extremely useful for coaches, consultants, trainers, wellness providers and other businesses with repeat customers.

Wix Stores: “Put It in the Cart”
Wix Stores is for eCommerce, for selling physical or digital products. And yes, service businesses may absolutely need it to sell:
Books or Workbooks
Templates or Digital Resources
Audio Files
Swag Merch
Tools
Gifts
Digital Resources
It's important to understand this distinction: Use Wix Booking Services and Pricing plans to sell SERVICES; use Wix Stores to sell STUFF.
You do not need Wix Stores simply because you want someone to pay you. A consulting session isn't automatically a “product” just because it has a dollar value.
Could you force every service into Wix Stores? Sure. You could also eat soup with a fork.
It's about choosing the right tool for the purpose.
Your Wix App Cheat Sheet
If you want the customer to...
Tell you about their project: → Wix Services
Choose an appointment time: → Wix Bookings
Approve custom scope and pricing: → Wix Proposals
Log into an account: → Wix Members Area
Buy a package, subscription or membership: → Wix Pricing Plans
Buy a physical or digital product: → Wix Stores
And Yes, You May Need More Than One
In fact, that's often the point.
Your customer journey might look like this:
1.She visits your Services page
↓
2. She schedules a Discovery Call through Wix Bookings
↓
3. You have an online discussion to learn more about her project, and then you send her a custom Wix Proposal
↓
4. She approves the proposal and wants to supplement the work with a pack of 6 consulting calls that she purchases through Pricing Plans
↓
5. She log into her password-protected Members Area to track how many sessions she has left in her consulting call package, and schedules future consulting calls from the "home base" on your website
That's not 5 disconnected Wix apps. That's a SYSTEM.
And it's the SYSTEM that I help identify with my clients before we install anything — advice that is even more important for my my Wordpress, Go High Level and Shopify clients! More to come at a later date.
Once you understand the journey, choosing the technology gets much easier. Sometimes the smartest decision is deciding which app you don't need.
As The Wix Doctor, a big part of my work isn't just showing business owners how to use website building tools like Wix. It's helping them figure out which tools actually make sense for the way their business works — before their website becomes a collection of buttons, apps, workflows, and expensive subscription-based tools that nobody understands.
